Helping and honoring the senior citizens
It’s a known fact that aged population is steadily increasing all over the world and taking care of them has become a societal challenge.
This issue is acute in rural population as there are no adequate medical facilities available nearby, which cater to the health issues of the senior citizens. This is compounded by the financial inability of the village population which mostly live on subsistent wages and they can not afford to spend their meager income on the disabled elders in the family.
Teja Charitable Trust has been working in the rural areas in Andhra Pradesh for the betterment of lives of the economically weak and aged population.
Our goal is that the senior citizens living in rural areas will be able to live normal lives and care for themselves as long as they can and be productive. Our efforts are directed towards assisting them to lead a life of dignity and pride as members of society.
Taking care of their physical and mental health is one of our priorities. As the economically weak elderly people can not meet their personal medical expenses, our trust has lent a helping hand in reimbursing the hospitalization charges and the required medical aid. We also assisted financially in facilitating the surgeries and other critical medical interventions.
The aid in the form of cash and kind has been helpful for the senior citizens in curing their ailments, regaining their health and be active in their golden years. We have helped them in organizing health check up initiatives so that their problems can be addressed by qualified medical professionals.
Teja Charitable trust has also distributed medicines, clothes and blankets for the poor and elderly people in the villages in addition to assisting them in meeting their medical expenses.
